    ½ cup raw rice
    4 tbsp yellow moong dal
    2 cup water
    1 cup milk
    ¾ cup Jaggery
    2 tbsp chopped almonds, cashewnuts and raisin
    2 tbsp desi
    2 pinch nutmeg powder and green eliachi powder

How To Make

In a heavy bottomed vessel dry roast rice and moong dal together for 3-4 minutes in medium flame , without getting burnt. Now pressure cook the rice and dal by adding 2 cups of water and 1 cup of milk. Cook till 5-6 whistles and keep it in a very low flame for 5 minutes in the last. Now switch off the flame.
 In a heavy bottomed vessel add jaggery and ½ cup water mix well and bring the jaggery syrup to a boil on low flame.
Meanwhile mash the rice and dal with the back of a ladle. Now add the mashed rice and dal mixture to the jaggery syrup. Mix well and add green eliachi powder and nutmeg powder. Now add chopped dry fruits and 2 tbsp ghee and mix well. Switch off the flame. Sakkari pongal is ready for to serve.
